The long and short of it!

What I do: Creator, founder, in-house designer here at PigmentRebellion.

A bit about me: I was born in Liverpool, UK and am half British and half Filipino. I was raised and educated in Kenya and have always had a love for art, nature, wildlife, and adventure. Living in Africa helped me nurture these aspects of my character. I pursued a degree in art and design, specializing in animation, but it wasn't my calling. After living and working in London for a few years, I decided to explore the world and joined a marine conservation organization based in Mexico. I trained in marine surveying and species and substrate identification, and also took my diving skills from beginner to professional, master scuba diver trainer specialty instructor. Over the last decade, I've lived on six of the seven continents, working in marine conservation and dive teaching roles. I've met some amazing people and seen some breathtaking sights along the way. I've had many exhilarating life experiences.

An amazing experience: While located on Andros Island in the Bahamas, I was leading a training dive, 130-foot/40 meter deep specialty for my marine conservation, student volunteers. After reaching our profile depth and turning in preparation for our ascent. We weaved the sparsely laid coral, away from the sandy lip of an amazing site called the “tongue of the ocean”. I look back to check on my students and as I did, notice a large dark figure skirting the horizon of the 1.2 mile deep, drop-off about 45 foot/14 meters behind our group. I signaled the students to turn as I realized what it was. This large, 14-foot, female greater hammerhead shark snaked along the sand flats towards us from the depths. It came within about 15foot of us as we all stared in owe, then swam a half semi-circle around us, checked us out. She slowly turned back, glided back over the sand ridge, drifted down over the lip and disappeared into the darkness of the abyss.

Favorite Animal: Terrestrial- cheetah, Marine- juvenile oriental sweetlips fish and Avian- is a cormorant bird…because they’ve evolved for all terrain!

Bucket list: Sail the globe and dive random reefs along the way
